At night when its quiet, If you move a mouse around on a wooden desk it sounds like a rat in the walls. The animals outside start to go crazy calling to the rat.

I used an Am5x86-133 in 1997 with Win95a and didn't find it slow. I didn't use it for 3D gaming. And it seems like mp3s didn't become popular until 1998. Yes, I still have to take this to the local locksmith and get a key made. I have been putting it off because of the lockdown. At least I have a working 755 thinkpad. But I have some new sound cards too.

Oh, another limitation is that the motherboard bios only supports up to a 410mb hard drive. If you plan on upgrading the CPU I would only go with the Pentium overdrive 83mhz CPU. Any other CPU is not worth it because they just dont have the processing power to play games in good performance. The …

That CPU is fine. A 486dx2-66 would be a little better in performance. A 486dx4-100 Overdrive CPU is only going to get you about 10% boost over the 486dx2-66 8mb is fine for DOS but Win3x can handle up to 32mb So you want at least 16mb for Win3x See if you can upgrade the motherboard video ram to …

It would be a Pentium II 400 Windows 98 does NOT support dual CPU’s You would have to use WinNT351 or 4.0 or Win-2000 for dual CPU support. So for best game play performance and compatibility a single Pentium II 400 with Win98se.

286 is only better for speed sensitive games. like wings of fury (dos). Its running to slow on a XT class machine, but its to fast on a 386 DX machine. If you are looking for a Network card the 3com 3c509, Intel Pro 10/100 and Netgear FA310 are plug and play with Win95/98. Drivers are provided in Win 95/98. But for best DOS only support go with the 3com or Intel.
