Are the printers shared on the network through any of the systems? Run Wireshark and capture some frames when it occurs to rule the network out. Look for broadcast packets.

Maybe EMI? PSU with leaky Faraday cage? What happens if you place the PSU next to the processor heatsink, just like it would if all components were installed in the case. Is the motherboard bent by any chance? When mounted in the case, it'll be straightened, and then maybe the CPU isn't making …

Ah, I thought I saw something familiar, an IXE4. I got an IXE. You could upgrade that 800MHz Athlon to a 1400 MHz part. Make sure you get the Athlon 'B', not C. B = 100 MHz FSB C = 133 MHz FSB, won't work with Irongate chipset. Well, it will run slower than designed.

I see you have the 'gold cap' version, at first it looks like a P60 or 66, which was IMO only a stepping stone to a more mature platform, socket 5.

Thanks to Thermalwrong, I got the DX4 Overdrive working at 100 MHz instead of only 75. More info here: https://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=97475 I also replaced the power supply fan and placed a small fan on the processor without damaging it. Update: added clearer picture of the resistors. Hmm, resistor R44 is already at R45. So I'm going to move it back to R44. 😁 It's an educated guess that the board from your picture was already configured for 33MHz external speed CPU's, i.e. an ordinary DX 33.

J16 = unknown, closed 1-2 and 3-4. No difference. J17 = closed 1-2, no difference. 2-3 must always be closed according to the manual J18 = when Overdrive R installed, closed since it's a DX4ODP R 100 I guess. When open, doesn't boot. J21 = closed, no difference. X2 looks like an RTC oscillator. …

I had trouble once with a P3B-F, and actually enabling JumperFree mode AND setting the whole dip switch block to the off position helped me out. Also, disconnect power and leave the coin cell battery out for at least one minute. Oh, and you sure about you had the 133 MHz version of the P3 600 back …
