Maybe the performance penalty would be less with an older, simpler sound card such as an ISA SB16, might be worth investigating. The board i´m using the PPro is the only one i have. ISA slots don´t detect any sound card on startup, dos or windows. This board was fully recapped in February. I sent …

it´s very dificult to recomend this OS for gaming It was never meant for multimedia/gaming, I'm surprised Creative has drivers available for the Live to begin with, but really as long as the Windows sounds work that's about what could be expected. It's meant for boring workstation or server stuff …

Installed this SB Live drivers WinNT Live! Ware 3.0 SBLW-WEBUP-2-US Date: 16th June '99 Revision: 1.03.001 Horrible experience. The Voodoo 2 came from 46.9fps @ 800x600 in Quake 2 without sound to 25.0fps with drivers and sound at 22KHz. How can i see if these are WDM or VxD drivers? Quake 2 …

Try these , I just set up NT4 on a Pentium Pro with a Live! Value (CT4830). I also further installed the latest update that can be found on Creative's website (sblwntup.exe). Unisound doesn´t detect any ISA PnP sound card. Any suggestions? Updated BIOS, same issue. ISA slots have been a nightmare

By the way. Aren´t the ISA slots controlled by the Southbridge of the 440FX chipset? What about PCI slots? Are controlled by Northbridge or Southbridge? PCI works perfect

IRQ-3 and 4 is assigned to Legacy ISA. IRQ from 5 to 15 is assigned to PCI/ISA PnP (IRQ-6, 8 and 13, don´t appear on the list). DMA-0 to DMA-7 is assigned to PCI/ISA PnP PCI IRQ Activated by : Level PCI IDE IRQ Map to: PCI-AUTO These are the settings in BIOS
