+1 to the onboard IDE sucking. I use a promise UATA133 card in mine, makes a massive difference.

Is cpu-z the only time it crashes? I’d run a whole bunch of other tests first. Maybe you just hit a rare incompatibility or there’s another issue. I haven’t really got it running yet. I booted ME on it from my xt-ide in a attempt to copy files to the scsi to start a win 95 install but haven’t had …

IMO a voodoo2 would go to waste at 166MHz, but if you can get one cheaper than a v1 send it

I'm starting to think your chipset is just marginal. I know it's not what you'd want to hear but it seems the results are stacking up in that camp. Both known good cards and memory only not working in one specific board...
