Re: Munt development ?

Sorry about the delay - I'm having transient problems with missing the occasional timer edge transition. This should be OK, though: http://www.kingguppy.com/files/CM32L_NewRisingSun_TEST.zip The channels are in the following order: Right reverb dry Right non-reverb Nothing Nothing Left reverb dry …

Re: Munt development ?

NewRisingSun: I know, but I couldn't actually access the 15th bit (bit 14) easily. I'm using an IC socket wedged on top of the DAC to get at the data lines. If you give me a MIDI file, and let me know which bit you'd like me to capture, I'd be happy to (preferably no more than ~16s).

Re: Munt development ?

Here's a terrible camera photo of my setup for that rip: http://www.kingguppy.com/files/MT-32-DAQ.jpg I'm using the µChameleon to capture the digital data: http://www.starting-point-systems.com/ There are some limitations: The firmware for doing this sort of streaming is still in beta. The streaming …

Re: Munt development ?

Here's the first digital rip - ~16 seconds from the MI2 intro: http://www.kingguppy.com/files/MI2-Intro-Excerpt.zip To view/play back using Audacity, do the following: Unzip MI2-Intro-Excerpt.raw File|Import...|Raw Data... Choose unzipped file Set options: Signed 16-bit PCM Big-endian 8 Channels …

Re: Munt development ?

I'm expecting the arrival of some hardware for logging the digital output of the MT-32 this week. I'm quite excited to start working on the emulator again with the ability to get provably correct results. It might take a while to get things working, but if all goes well I'll post some digital …

Re: Munt development ?

I'm still alive, but I haven't done any real work on Munt in months. As far as I remember, the scummvm and Munt trees are currently in sync. I've got some local changes which attempt to bring some sanity to the time-based calculations, but I didn't quite crack it. I'm at the stage where it doesn't …

Re: Munt 0.1.3 released

@canadacow: Ages ago, we discussed a few things that were holding up release: - Licencing issues (we just need to GPL the control app) - Potential trademark issues with the faceplate - Adding a version to the network protocol - Listening only to localhost/not broadcasting. I think there was …

Re: web site

I propose that Snover sends me the finished design, and I'll make sure that it works on IE as well as more capable browsers. How does that sound? Quick note: The core of Munt (including the drivers) has an MIT-style licence, so the "GPL" notice should probably be changed or removed.

Re: MUNT out of tune?

What we need for digital samples is something like this: http://www.saelig.com/ANT16.htm But with either a HUGE buffer, or the ability to stream the data live to the PC without buffering. HunterZ, thanks for the offer. I can't immediately think of something you could do with an oscilloscope to help, …

Re: MUNT out of tune?

If you look through the sysex manual, you'll see layer upon layer of pitch variables. They all interact in weird and wonderful ways. There's the master pitch (global), key shift and fine tune (per-patch), coarse and fine tuning (per-partial), the pitch envelope with LFO (per-partial)... Then there's …

Re: MUNT out of tune?

It hopefully sounds better than it did in 0.1.2, but it's still pretty awful. I'll try to have another look at this track soon (it's been pointed out to me before). The cause of the problem is that Munt doesn't emulate the MT-32 perfectly yet. There's not much you can do except wait for an update or …

Re: web site

I really like the design (especially the rather menacing logo looming at the top). Its XHTML and CSS look nice and clean too, so I can understand that 1) you don't want to corrupt it to support a shoddy browser, and 2) you care about web standards and have a natural dislike for browsers that don't …

Re: Munt 0.1.3 released

With only some very minor tweaks to the code for release (which won't have propagated to anonymous CVS yet), yes. I have quite a few changes on my local machine which I didn't commit/include in the release, because I just couldn't get them right within the weekend. But this release should mark the …

Munt 0.1.3 released

I finally gave up and released 0.1.3 more or less as-is. Canadacow's delicious GUI is unfortunately disabled (it's not quite ready, and we're a bit worried about trademark issues and so on). Get it here: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=123616&package_id=135091&release_id=339585 …

Request for help with Munt (not just coders)

There are a lot of things I'd like to do with the Munt project that I lack the time, expertise and/or equipment to accomplish in any reasonable timeframe. Here's a quick list of ways in which you could help: Improve the web site http://munt.sourceforge.net/ is currently... uninspiring. Build a …
