Would you mind giving exact steps to reproduce the problem? Without any idea of what you're trying to play, and with what application, it's pretty hard to guess at what the problem is. System specifications (CPU and RAM in particular) would also be useful. The sound card you use is not important, …

Very generic - the bug was in the iMuse implementation, and the change may well fix problems in other SCUMM games. Hopefully it doesn't break anything. Please let me know your results once the fix gets into a daily.

I just found the problem - there is in fact an MT-32 version of the sound being played, but a bug in ScummVM was preventing the sysex from being sent for that channel. After testing my fix to ensure that it doesn't break any other games, I'll commit it. No need to file a bug report. [Edit:] Fix …

I've now tried the floppy version in DOSBox and ScummVM, both using Windows MIDI, with the following results: In DOSBox, I hear the crashing sound. The control and PCM ROMs (at least those that I know about) from the LAPC-I/CM-32L will be supported in Munt 0.1.3. Most of the extra capabilities of those devices will also be supported when these ROMs are present.

Both these points (a configuration/control GUI and volume control using synth volume in the mixer) are on my to-do list. Feel free to add them as RFEs in the Munt project on SF.net if you'd like tracking.

One issue is that the driver runs the emulator at 44.1KHz, whereas in ScummVM the emulator runs at 32KHz.

I tend to test games which are playable with ScummVM, since DOSBox has a speed problem on Athlon64s.

The problem is that the amplitude of the synth waveforms has changed relative to that of the PCM waves (the former are now quieter). Unfortunately I still haven't received my MT-32 to get these values right.

HunterZ: He's talking about a sound effect (a crashing sound when Indy comes through a window) that he actually *wants* to hear, not the crackling sounds that will be fixed in Munt 0.1.2 (coming soon to a SF.net mirror near you).
