i think the pcspeaker callback could turn off a channel technically speaking and maybe adlib as well. so that change with enabled might not be entirely correct. However at least the pcspeaker should work fine being a called a few times while disabled

try killing explorer.exe before starting dosbox in fullscreen to see if that makes a difference

It are relatively safe optimizations. I have no problems with a few extra GCC_UNLIKELY somewhere. and mixer mix optimizations don't hurt either. It's not where the big time is spend, but it is called quite often.

DOSBox is intended to run games. So features that benefit only an application programmer have little priority attributes can't be set cross platform. So hence attrib does and will do nothing. (linux doesn't have a system or hidden attribute for example) there is no game that uses either /s or /b …

you should follow the instructions provided by bethesda. They aren't that different for the mac. I think the creator of Boxer (a dosbox frontend) create some tutorial as well on his site specificly for macs.

you are using it wrong. -exit is to be used when you specify an executable in command line arguments that you intend to run. if you use a configfile you can add exit at the bottom of configfile

the DOSBox devs have played with it a few times. It's only available at special request and might be added oneday to the regular dosbox if it gets tested enough, although very few (if at all) games require it.

nope. DOSBox is for games. don't do lowlevel things like writing partitions. Get a different tool

get pmidi type pmidi -l you will get a a few midi ports add the right one to the midiconfig= line in dosbox.conf

sounds like file locking. which is not implemented in regular builds of DOSBox.

not known, but sometimes a terminal doesn't resize correctly, but if it works with any size as long it isn't maximized than I don't really know

try resizing the terminal manually to something large before starting dosbox
