Re: What game are you playing now?

https://i.ibb.co/4YMby69/Steam-Community.png The last couple of sessions I found some new companions. Falk a cleric looking guy, Ray an outlaw, I think they tried to go to a lovable rouge type, but I still just want to kill him and Caja, a former berserker. I also reached Lvl 11. I can finally …

Re: What game are you playing now?

https://i.ibb.co/HC30N2c/Steam-Community.png This was an eventful session. Explored the map a bit more, reached Level 6, found the an unaffiliated town, got myself a house, found the alb separatists, got abducted by the clerics and dragged the opposite corner of the map, got myself my first …

Re: What game are you playing now?

https://i.ibb.co/tMB8t2F/Steam-Community.png Got some more hours into the game. Mostly explored the map, found the Otlaw base. Looks like the only viable way for leveling is questing because killing stuff don't give much xp. It's been a while since I felt this weak in a game. I'm still with a rusty …

Re: What game are you playing now?

https://i.ibb.co/qsfnY5H/Steam-Community.png Got into the mood of some eurojank. Barely dipped my feet into the game. Looks interesting, but at the same time appears to be a not-a-real-RPG. We'll see how much it opens up later. Only met one faction properly until now, but I don't think I'll be …

Re: Bought these games today

no wide-screen support (at least, not in the version i used). But still really worth playing once. I don't think any version has that from the in-game menu out of the box. But you can set it by editing a config file. I've never beaten the expansion. I got to the last boss, then I just stopped …

Re: Bought these games today

So far I tested C&C, Halo, MoH and Crysis, they all work. Command & Conquer Generals was a cool game. I think I only tried the demo or something. If I remember correctly it came out close to bf1942 or something similar so no one played it online. Yeah, they were something like half a year apart, but …

Re: Do you think prices will stay high?

I don't see it that way, not entirely anyways. A couple of months after COVID prices did drop. When the crypto market went bust (again), even the more modern stuff (G80/92 graphics cards) had a huge price drop. Now mostly just the more desirable stuff is more expensive than pre-COVID. It appears to …

Re: PC game with most individual files?

Cyberdyne wrote on 2023-10-17, 16:53: Really do not play modern games. Bu do not understand how one game can have one datafile and other has million. Take Quake4 versus HalfLife2. Half-Life 2 is a weird one. The release version didn't have too many small files, the later versions went nuts.

Re: Bought these games today

I won't have time to try all of them until at least Friday. IMG_20231016_173110.jpg Wizardry 8 - I already had it as bundleware, wanted a full retail version. Came with a fairly thick, but damaged manual. The Witcher - The international (English) version. Pro: It didn't come with the awful localized …

Re: Remastering games, is it really worth it?

I'm conflicted about this. For a mainly PC gamer, I only encounter with minor difficulty running older games on a modern PC (I did more while I was a Windows user than now as a Linux daily driver). But still, I do most of my pre-2010 gaming on nostalgia/retro PCs. The thing is for modern PCs and …

Re: declining utility of older systems

I do most data transfer over network. Got an older Cisco-Linksys router with an USB port exclusively for my retro network. Separated the last 6 ports on my switch into a retro VLAN and that's about it. I also prefer using mobil racks so it's not too difficult to move the hard drives between PCs.
