Tried that, same problem. I even put a small fan blowing on the VRMs, still no dice. I even had set the multiplier jumpers to run the P233 at a lower clockspeed, it only further worsened the problems.

The UMC IO version should be the correct one for this board. Funny now you mention that, I've got later Rev. of this board (mine's a HOT-555A), could you check if your board works with w95/98 with a P233MMX?

Just put a passive DVI-I to VGA dongle on your card's DVI-I port, it's not rocket science at all. Else you will need an active converter (such as a HDMI to VGA or DP to VGA).

AFAIK no early Macintoshes used 5.25 FDDs, except for the "Twiggy" 128K prototypes. Unless of course, if you count the Apple II line as Macintoshes, but that's a whole different animal.

The 3rd board looks like to be from a Olivetti M24 EDIT: Nevermind. It looks like it has a NEC V40 CPU, so it can't be a M24 motherboard, as the M24 used a 8086.

Among that stack, the Jetkey chip is just a plain old KBC, can be useful if you've got a old 486 mobo that lacks one... I think I can see a chip with "MR BIOS" written on it, next to the Jetkey. Could be worth a shot trying to find a EPROM reader and dump its contents.

ISTM that 10K/15K RPM SCSI HDDs seem to be more fragile, I've had a Hitachi Ultrastar 15K and it didn't work for long before it exhibited the same symptoms (click and whirr before failing altogether). If your SCSI cable has another connector, you could put the terminator on the connector after the hard drive, I have not yet tried this so YMMV.

You could try doing a low level format of this drive, usually you will need to boot on a DOS floppy and type in "DEBUG" then "G=C800:5" to invoke the LLF utility in the card's BIOS. This will of course destroy all data on the HDD...

Yes it should. SCSI is usually backwards compatible. Just make sure that the SCA adapter that you're getting has ID jumpers and termination resistors on it.

Yes should work, though you may run into some problems with the BIOS not handling well the 1.44M FDC 😀 The IDE port won't work, obviously, but that doesn't really matter.

The ribbon cables just look suspiciously similar to the cables used on 68K Macintoshes (such as the LC "Pizzaboxes" ones). Though the vents on the sides... They're throwing me off, I can't quite nail what this one would be.
