Re: Are Windows 2.03 / Windows 3.0 useful?

RM Nimbus? 🤷‍♂️ Edit: Picture.. That must be it, I vaguely remember someone running a cludged version of windows 3.1 on the 186 version of the machine (2.x and 3.0 were personalized versions for that machine specifically with its odd more than 640k configurations) Reading this the 3.1 beta real …

Re: B/W TV monitors with colour?

Hi there! I was wondering if RGB video monitors exist that use a monochrome CRT with an LCD filter or RGB wheel. Essentially the reverse to a monochrome video camera with a colour wheel attached. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=q1LvleZcJm0 So far, I only know about Nipkow style screens and …

Re: Are Windows 2.03 / Windows 3.0 useful?

I vaguely recall a British 80186 system that could address -800kb of base ram that had some personalized stuff for various versions of windows, I don’t remember if they made a cludge so it could run Windows 3.1 Although the amount of software isn’t massive there are a number of Windows games and …

Ok Thanks. I dont know much about DX-50s, I was worried it was an experimental version of a 486 that just runs hot all the time. It like all 33mhz+ 486s do run hot all the time but they are also perfectly stable, a heatsync makes any antique chip last longer even if it doesn’t “need it” Good Luck

Re: New forum suggestions/Feedback

And it's only gotten worse, on 4k displays I can barely even see the cursor. Which is definitely a scaling problem with your operating system, because I can see it just fine on my 4K monitor (Chrome, Windows 11). Although I do agree that not having an option to use the regular system cursor is a …
