the is a regulator pcb that can be removed… why it is more dangerous? other people tell me the opposite… i’m confused.. Under voltage is never dangerous to the CPU If the cpu is unstable at the lower voltage that is a potential way to corrupt HD data, freeze, lockup, etc. Poster is mis-informed

Did anyone ever benchmark identical video cards on the different buses? AKA ISA VRS VLB VRS OPTI? I’ve always been curious if there was much different My experience with the opti local bus was with OEM motherboards that had onboard video and IDE on said bus (but just ISA expansion)

You can Bodge wire the multiplier pin to ground to force the 4x multiplier My guess is something (cache, memory, vlb or timings) doesn’t like 40mhz

Anyone besides me overclocked a dx50 motherboard to 60mhz FSB using a different clock crystal? I never benchmarked but am curious if it gives a performance boost or is actually slower (my dx50 was ISA, boo, and ran OK at 60mhz but that was early in my Pc days)

If it’s a 256k card specialized drivers won’t do much 800x600x16 colors Even at 512k you get 256 colors at the same I don’t think the wonder plus did any funky high res monochrome modes so nothing too far from vga at that point.
