Well I got the new cap and replaced it. Continuity test with a multimeter shows good connections from the pads either side of the new cap, but still cant get the system to even power on with this card installed (System works with a Radeon 9700). Thanks for posting these. I used up most of my afternoon yesterday trying to get this card working, but haven't tried the drivers you posted. I decided to not use a 'non standard' card in this build and have ordered a TNT2 card instead.

Thank you for the reminder, the one I linked was in fact the wrong length and diameter. I found the correct ones and got a few ordered. (Why am I unable to buy a single capacitor and that I always buy a few extra 'just in case'?)

Whilst removing a FX 5900xt from a tenacious hidden AGP clip, I worked a capacitor loose from the bottom of the board. I ended up pulling it off completely. Can anyone identify this? If possible a link to mouser or other retailer of a replacement would be appreciated.

Keropi, wbahnassi, thanks for your replies. I decided to give msmouse a go, I've tried version 6.26 and 7.04 and in both cases get 'Driver not installed -- interrupt jumper missing'. It's one of those days where my troubleshooting skills are at zero, I'm going to give this another look tomorrow.
