Re: Installation Windows 98 SE + 3DFX drivers ?!

in DOSBox General
Linux. Compiling on Linux is very easy. You just need to install a few pre-requisite packages using your package manager, pull the GIT repository and run the build script. You can literally go from a plain Linux workstation installation, to compiling a project like dosbox-x in minutes. Setting it up …

1. https://github.com/joncampbell123/dosbox-x 2. I am running a version I compiled myself from the latest code, which already has the next (unreleased) version number. A new release (0.83.4) should be out in the next couple of days (probably around the 2nd or 3rd or August). I suggest you wait a few …

I just tried it here on Linux and Windows. Linux SDL2 with host-keyboard set to swiss-french command_000.png Linux SDL1 with host-keyboard set to swiss-french command_001.png It also works fine with the Windows SDL2 version, but for the Windows SDL1 version there is indeed an issue. - If the host …

I'm afraid I don't follow you. If I start dosbox-x with those settings I get a Swiss French layout in DOSBox-X with the integrated DOS. If you start a real DOS or Windows 9x in DOSBox-X you will need to configure your keyboard layout separately. The keyboardlayout= will have no effect once real DOS …

Weird, because I wrote that wiki page and tested it. The only way I could find that triggered such behaviour was if I did an install with the default sbtype=sb16 (or just don't have the line at all, since that is the default) and then afterwards change to sbtype=sb16vibra. Have you tried deleting …

Re: DOSBox-X branch

in DOSBox Patches
DOSBox-X does not allow you to specify config commands on the dosbox-x command line, unless you type "CONFIG" in front of it. So the syntax is "config -set cycles=max", or in the config file, set it as [cpu] cycles=max Or if your using the built-in configuration GUI, make sure you SAVE the settings …

Re: Spirometer, cannot open COM port

Some additional details as to what your trying to do would have been helpful. I also don't know what this spirometer program is. If it is trying to communicate to your real COM port (serial port), you need to configure your dosbox config file as follows, assuming your on a Windows system: [serial] …

Re: Large HD images (DOSBOX)

in DOSBox Patches
We should really take this to the dosbox-x thread. But with the latest dosbox-x release you can now run sys, fdisk and format directly from the integrated DOS. All you need to do is set the right dos version to match that of the sys/fdisk/format utilities. The only known issue at this point, is that …

Re: Large HD images (DOSBOX)

You can script dosbox. Just give it a conf file with an [autoexec] section that does EXIT at the end. Or just use a ton 0f "-c command" options. Only problem is that it causes the dosbox window to pop up for a moment. On Windows you can use --nogui to suppress it, but not on Linux unfortunately.
