I have a new problem, How do you ECHO special chars like '|' ? According to Google you use ^| but this doesn't work in 4DOS or command.com What would be the ANSI code for printing '|' ?

But I've seen it done. A guy I knew had a prompt coded in a semi large bat file which had a sequence like |, /,--, \,| in the prompt.

The problem I have now is that ANSI.SYS doesn't work with the 4dos prompt command in DesqView. Anyone know how to fix this?

I remember back in the day, people where making interactive prompts with all sorts of info, color and even char animation. Does anyone have any examples of this? Preferably for 4DOS [Edit] For instance, is it possible to execute an arbitrary commend within the prompt? /Jacob

Ok, I have another problem now. If I try to open a DOS shell in a window (ie DOS 128k) I get an error that "Program is to big to fit in memory" Is this because 4dos.com is to big? Opening a "Big DOS" Shell works fine

Hi I'm currently trying to setup an old DOS PC with 4dos, qemm and desqview. I have them all installed, but when I change the SHELL in config.sys to 4DOS.COM desqview can't start dos shells. I get an error "File Not Found" Does anyone know if this can be fixed? /Jacob

Hi I own a Logitech Wingman Digital Extreme which I tried using on an Pentium PC with SB16. In Descent it does detect a joystick, but nothing works, when calibrating no buttons/axis work. Is this supposed to work or do I need a newer gameport? PS: The Wingman Digital has the combo USB/Gameport …

The reason I tried Parallel port is that I don't have any old network cards lying around, and copying via floppy was killing me. I tried Interlink but it also kept saying NOT Connected. This week I should get a IDE2SD Adapter in the mail.
