Having a DOS utility to load soundfonts to the AWE 64 with simmconn would be absolutely excellent. Is there anyone that knows something about this as of 2020?

Yes its quite a bummer to not be able to load soundfonts in DOS. I have a pimped up 486 100mhz that I added the AWE 64 gold with SIMMconn to be able to run old games with great sound but no luck there. The SIMMconn memory gets erased on reboot so not possible there. And running games via Win95 on a …

Ok then (Im happy you say the numbers are fine), I thought it was quick when I watched an LGR episode on Youtube. Probably it was just a cut/edit there 😀 Thanks - seems my computer reports White through cache in CHKCPU even though I change Internal Write Cache to enabled.

I have a retro machine that I have been playing with some. When I run CHKCACHE (have philscomputerlabs DOSBENCH stuff) it runs very very slow. i think munt and a slink linux will fully be able to run from ramdisk, so wear of sdcard can be reduced greatly. Anyway i see no need why anything should write on the sd in this case. logging on disk, temporary files.. everything can be put into ramdisk. I don't think it would be much read/write on …

This isn't a single/double sided thing but a memory density thing. This chipset won't recognise chips over 16Mb. A consequence of that is that to reach the amount of memory you want you have to do it with a different type of (double-sided) memory, but that's effect, not cause. By the way, you might …
