Re: PCMCIA Sound Cards

lolo799 wrote on 2020-09-15, 09:03: It may be worth the effort to contact the Ratoc customer service asking for the 5571 DOS and Win3.x drivers. Got a respond from Ratoc. Unfortunately they don't have the drivers. The guy on the other end was very responsive and indeed was trying to find the …

Re: PCMCIA Sound Cards

I think I found them on the Win3x.org board along with an installation tutorial: Yes, these drivers are known to be available. The one that is missing is DOS/Win 3.x for REX-5571. They sold the 5571 DOS drivers for owners of the 5571W card who wanted to use it in DOS. It may be worth the effort to …

Re: PCMCIA Sound Cards

I found out from the FAQ that Ratoc sold DOS drivers separately for 5000 yens. Vendor code - REX-71A. That is why it's not available online. And also they made sure drivers were not interchangeable. Same for 5572. https://www.ratocsystems.com/services/faq/5571.html#5571-1

Re: PCMCIA Sound Cards

Did you try the /mpu= switch with the 5570 driver? Yes, I tried this switch. I was putting port address there /MPU=330 Dunno if that's correct. Maybe should be YES. I also tried some of these switches in combinations that made sense. No luck. switches.jpg Would be much more promising if the sound …

Re: PCMCIA Sound Cards

So here are the card names: IMG_2502.JPG And here is output with 5571 plugged-in with 5572 driver: IMG_2504.JPG with 5570 driver: IMG_2505.JPG with 5570 rex70365.sys driver which does not require SS and CS: IMG_2506.JPG The switches that I use: lines.jpg PS Just ignore the hieroglyphs at the bottom …

Re: PCMCIA Sound Cards

I'll check this out and make some screenshots tomorrow. But as far as i can see from readme files and descriptions on ratoc page 5572 does not support MIDI out via joystic port in DOS. Readme for 5572 does not mention /index22 switch, whereas in 5571's readme it's mentioned.

Re: PCMCIA Sound Cards

What does the 5570 driver's output say? I never used the 5570 in Win3.x, only in DOS, and i definitely used it with my sc-55mk2. The driver displays usual info as if it's a correct card: Socket=0 Port = 220 Int=9 Hmm, so maybe 5572 is not supposed to work like this? But I can see all same switches …

Re: PCMCIA Sound Cards

The 3 Ratoc cards all use the same audio chip, the ess1688p. In theory, the DOS driver for the 5570 should work. Or you could try the one for the 5572 and use the switch to deactivate the scsi function if it's possible to do that. http://nwserveur.no-ip.org/win3xorg/devices/PCMCIA%20Sound%20Cards/ …

Re: PCMCIA Sound Cards

The first post of this thread mentions 5571 = 5570 + joystick port. There's also mentions that 5571 = 4871/9871. Have you tried the drivers for these? Also, found a link that may be of interest hopefully: http://www.win3x.org/win3board/viewtopic.php?style=30&t=19261 Good luck! :) Thank you, pool7 . …

Re: PCMCIA Sound Cards

But you never know if it works in pure DOS or intended for W311. from manual: << Restrictions >> -When operating a game for MS-DOS in DOS mode of Windows 95, the card does not operate normally. The REX-5571/9871/4871 series has the following two models. ■ REX-5571/9871/4871 Floppy for models …

Re: PCMCIA Sound Cards

Got this card recently. IMG_2494.JPG The drivers for DOS are nowhere to be found online. Only W95. Does anyone happen to have them? I'b be very grateful! Also does anyone know whether MIDI (MPU-401) port on this card works in DOS? The manual mentions this switch: / Index22 This is the specification …

Re: PCMCIA Sound Cards

Here is the recording of FM synth on DSP Solutions/Sony sound box. E1M1DSP.mp3 The CD part unfortunately did not work (in DOS). None of the drivers work, neither the one that comes with Altec, nor the PRD150.sys that comes in the W95 driver pack. Maybe cyclone3d will be more lucky with this. IMG_ …
