Re: DOSBox ReelMagic Fork

Re: DOSBox ReelMagic Fork

OK, I have tested there now - it seems that the error that prevented DOSBox Staging from working on my Windows 7 has been fixed in recent builds 😀 Everything is fine with "Dragon's Lair", you can pass the bridge scene, the second scene etc.

Re: Reelmagic/Realmagic MPEG games

Short of actual scanned evidence, even just a picture of it, I would be highly hesitant to believe it. It would only take a few minutes to snap a photo of the disk. I can only hope he would see that - and either make a picture or share the disk image. But I have no reason not to believe him. Both …

Re: DOSBox ReelMagic Fork

Uka, you mentioned testing the games. Did you test Dragon's Lair? If so, can you pass the first screen? I am able to hit the action button and swing my sword at the eyeballs, but I am unable to climb up on to the bridge to continue the scene. I can't tell if this version is just different, but the …

I have a copy of this. Just picked it up recently, never heard of it before that. Nice! Can you please share it? :) BTW, any more progress on getting DOSBox to work better with these Realmagic titles? I haven't seen an update on that in a while. As you can see from a neighboring thread - not yet. …

Re: Reelmagic/Realmagic MPEG games

No new RM-MPEG games has been surfaced for now. But I have some considerations on non-RM MPEG games! It turns out that at least "Mad Dog II" was bundled with one of REALmagic cards (which seems to be Maxima): IBM.jpg But this game was not for ReelMagic/REALmagic MPEG, but for OpenMPEG! That is, it …

Ah, I see. It is just the topic for discussing mostly games, you know. Yes, ReelMagic CD is a kind of the original ReelMagic - it should be quite rare and expensive 😀 Will it come with full box, drivers, demo disks etc. or just the cards?

If Conspiracy exists for this platform, could Dune exist too ? Well, that remains a possibility, but to tell the truth, I doubt that - no proof had been surfaced so far, and there are no mentions of "Dune" in catalogs :( Excellent work Uka! I'm looking forward to trying Conspiracy on my 386 :) You …

Re: DOSBox ReelMagic Fork

Do we know anything more about realmagic Conspiracy's release? Was it released on only one continent? Did it have an official box? Did it ever make it on store shelves etc. Well, that's a question for Hammer, but I think that - yes, "Conspiracy" (in difference from "Entity") was released officially …

Re: DOSBox ReelMagic Fork

Good news: thanks to Hammer , the 11th REALmagic game has been recovered - "Conspiracy" (better known as "KGB" by its 1992 floppy version) by Cryo Interactive! I have uploaded it to Archive.org. Bad news: it does not work in DOSBox ReelMagic Fork for now. This release, in difference from "Entity", …

Re: Reelmagic/Realmagic MPEG games

No, it does not... It seems that every (or almost every) REELmagic game requires the DOSBox fork to be tuned a bit for that specific game. It does work on the real hardware though!

Re: Reelmagic/Realmagic MPEG games

Well, some news is that "Return to Cyber City" is said to definitely exist! So I move it from Part II to Part I of the list: https://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?p=962231#p962231 Sadly no more games have been found yet. I only keep finding multimedia projects, but they are not games and not RM- …

Re: DOSBox ReelMagic Fork

@uka: Windows 3.11 should work fine in DOSBox 0.73. Only problem (that persists in SVN as well) is that share is not working. If a game needs, you can fake it though with fakeshare (in my Wibdows 3.1x guide). Well, I have tried installing Windows 3.11 in the current version of DOSBox ReelMagic Fork …
