Midi gives you choice. Tracks can sound very different on different modules. Playing around with that can be fun. Funny you mention that. Most of DOS games was designed for 14-15" monitors. Native resolutions of LCDs make it even worse. If your display has controls for image size, try to make it smaller. CRT is always better but I understand it is not very convenient to keep it at home...

I always preferred CD tracks over MIDI. Yeah, games like RoA:Star Trail used Roland MIDI tracks records as CD tracks, but to be honest - who had SC-88 in 1995??? Also, I never liked OPLx sound. Always sounded like s**t when compared to Amiga.

I have got this motherboard http://support.pcpartner.com/support/man/via/895400.pdf and according to this page http://web.inter.nl.net/hcc/J.Steunebrink/k6plus.htm with newest 2mbit BIOS it should support also AMD K6+ processors. However, there are no jumper settings for those CPUs in manual :-/ …

Power switch is funny. It has wire draw rod on it which leads to place where should be PSU, so the real power switch is on the PSU and that is a problem.

Just found this strange 386 at local "thrashman's" yard. He gave it to me for free 😀 Dirty as hell and without PSU, but i like idea of 386 with onboard VGA, IDE, I/O and 72-pin SIMM.

Yeah, K-Lite and MPC-HC never let me down. VLC is easier to use, but i do not like its controls. Especially bottom bar popping-up randomly (OK, I might have oversensitive mouse).

To record sound from Amiga you need: 2xRCA - 1x 3,5mm stereo TRS jack PC with line input Audacity Connect Amiga audio out with PC line in, start Audacity, choose input, record, edit and export 😀 I think it's the same with Mac, although I think you will need TRS-TRS cable.

I played both Final Fantasy 7 and 8 on Voodoo 2 (W98) and I am sure they both run well on Voodoo 1 (W95).
