Please try the following: Download Raptor midi file. Playback midi file using a windows player. So you can indicate if the problem is located in dos environment (maybe a speed issue) or not. The midi music from raptor is GM and not GS. So the SC55 should get the GM reset and playing in GM mode. ( …

The card has no dedicated opl3 - it does opl3 thru the dream synth. My assumption is that with the daughterboard attached the dream synth is disabled and so is the opl3 then. I have the same card and can check if it behaves the same

Capturing bios / dos text mode isn't easy because of the refresh rate and resolution most of the cheap vga to hdmi adapters won't handle. Some of them need at least 640x480 resolution with 60hz. Look here to dive into the topic: Re: VGA Capture Thread

It is not a PnP card so you have to run the hardware detection procedure or install it manually if not detected.

If you consider using another psu anyway, please keep in mind that the polarity is plus outside and minus inside - vice versa to most other PSUs.

What are your system specs? If it is a fast system you can try if setmul or disabling cpu cache will help. Maybe someone know if -5V is needed for the digital playback part of this card, and if so, do your PSU supply it?

The card is detected and resources were set by pnp bios just right. That's good so far. The card has no amplifier so the output volume might be low. But ther should be at least something. Looks like a resource conflict. Can you manually select 220/5/1 in the advanced properties tab of the device?
