A really neat thing is that it has digital optical out so i can connect the retro htpc to my big living room reciever. Pure digital signal with no noise :) About the sample rate setting. Hi! I just installed Soul reaver 2 and Chaser. The games run fine but the video intros stutter and run slow. I know there are more game intros that run bad but i dont remember them right now. Are there any recommended codec files i should get? Maybe replace some of windows 98 own codecs ? Any advice …

Thanks alot for your input. I use the 1.11 retail version of SiN. When using stereo the game sounds ok. But i really wish the Quad setting would work better. Update!! I solved it. Yes thank you! Btw it seems like some a3d 2.0 games dont like the Quad speaker option. Heavy metal fakk 2 for example the gun sounds are mute when selecting 4speaker. The game even has this option in its own menu but still it wont work. Stereo option however works great. Heretic II has awsome Quad …

Any suggestions for tweaks in general for A3D titles? An example would be SiN 1998. I would really like if the player weapon sounds could be louder. I got a Xitel storm platinum (vortex 2) Reference driver 2048 Any ideas and tricks?

Well the thing is... i have an analogue cd cable going from the vortex to the cdrom. Two days ago i replaced the motherboard with a Asus tusl2-c rev 1.04 Paired it with a 1.4ghz tualation. Everything else is the same. Now i get music from the jedi knight cd1 in windows cdplayer. Still no change …

I tried to play the jedi knight cd1 in windows cd player and the tracks run but i get no sound. I will soon replace this motherboard with a Asus Tusl-c 1.04 and a 1.4ghz tualatin. Still it would be nice to find a solution to this.

Sorry but what is DAE? Digital Audio Extraction. If you have the WDM (Windows Device Model) drivers installed for your sound card in Windows 98SE (versus the old format of drivers that I forget the name of), Windows will effectively rip the audio from the CD while whatever software that is using …

I'm not sure what issue is. I checked some of the levels that you stated had no music with my CD copy. The music worked just fine for me.
