Do you really need to be able to run Win7 on it? From my experience it needs at least 1gb ram to be somewhat useful. With just 512mb you should be happy if you can even start a a web browser. Minimum to be usable is around 4gb but thats mostly not enough.

I had some luck with this driver: https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/detai … MTX_UNITY_I7598 It detects the CD-rom, mscdex load like its supposed to do... and the drive seems to be broken. I will try another SCSI-cdrom that I have in another computer to see if it helps.
