I don't get what the issue is here. Have you encountered issues with ATi cards on this system? In any case, the Noctua fan I was talking about is the NF-A4X10 or the NF-A4X20 if you've got some slight headroom. Just a standard Intel 440LX board, my Micron has one identical to this. I believe the yamaha chips were an option from intel on those boards for the manufactures to decide on. Just look for a NOS Zalman CNPS7000A or CNPS7000B, I have the same board and thats what I use. If is a sealed NOS unit it should have the socket 462 brackets with it that screw in and use the 4 through the board holes around the socket. Other brands might have units that can use those 4 mounting …

If it broke from torque like being cross threaded you are screwed, and need to drill it out and put a helicoil in there. Yes with via boards the 1st thing you do is install the via drivers before anything else or it seems you are asking for a world of hurt.

I have seen the fix to fix one fan header before, on my board all 3 went dead at the same time. I'm sure it's a similar fix on my board I just need to find the component that feeds all 3 that went bad.

Depends on your board, my 440fx board I thought supported buffered ram until I picked up 1 stick and found out the notch in the ram didn't line up. =/
