Some of the old OEMs I have use plastic standoff and so those boards are grounded through the I/O shield

The one I used to test I actually have it set on 'auto' voltage and it worked. I just tried a Pentium III 700 SL3XM in my WS440BX board and it would not boot . It boots just fine with a Pentium III 1000 SL5QV in an appropriate slotket, I would guess the fastest it would run would be a Katmai Pentium III 600 without a slotket . https://www.ultimateretro.net/en/motherboards/5902 …

Sounds like a MSI MS-6905 Master would be your best bet if you can find one... just dont get the Rev 1.0. I'm not sure but the last time I saw one for sale I think it went for about $50 USD on Ebay, about the same for an ASUS S370-DL. I'm not sure where is a good place to look as almost everywhere …

Good to know. I just tried it, but same result. I can say that even without the jumper setting in that Configuration mode, it will still spin up the fans and give me some beeps without booting. Dell XPS Txxx board is what I use a slotket on all the time (a cheap generic one) and I have never had a problem, i think i have that same cpu in it now. Weird the Abit one is that picky but I don't have one of those.

On some rivets you will need to grab the backside of them with a pliers if they spin while drilling.
