The Mathco is usually clocked at 2/3 the CPU on 286 boards so the 20Mhz IIT should work just fine. The only ACT boards found do not have the same layout, will keep looking for the manual. FWIW: The 386SX40 based boards are probably the ultimate in 16bit designed PC's, not the 286 based.

The old Windows CD player app is not a good one. I would try a different Player and not the built-in one. Yeah would think the standard MS Mouse drivers would work, though only with two buttons (left and right). You would have to choose a 3 button mouse under Win9x.

Stripped down some old Mac's. One G3, one Performa and one PowerMac will keep intact but have no use for most of the old Mac stuff anymore. Have to limit my collection and those are just taking up space. The older scsi HD's and CDROMS are worth more than the older Macs 🤣

I used Imgburn under Wine in Ubuntu but generally use my old XP computer with Nero6 to burn cd's for older computers, that machine also has a floppy drive 😁. There is a Nero for Linux but have not tried it.
