Re: what will you do when your last hardware fails?

in Milliways
I am a purist when it comes to getting parts for my old systems, but in a last ditch effort, I would simply just buy new parts to replace them. A lot of people are starting to make new parts for old systems nowadays, especially stuff for Amiga/early DOS

Re: Trying to source physical copies of games

Tyrian 2000 is absolute bullshit hard to find, I'm looking for that one too, and original Tyrian was only released in a big box overseas. You know what's funny is that I actually saw a US big box Tyrian 2000 in a lot with a bunch of other heavy hitter (e.g. usually expensive) big box PC games that …

Re: Is anyone excited for the Nvidia 3000 series cards

I'm going to upgrade my 1050ti to a 3080 (along with my i5-7500 to a Ryzen, of course a motherboard + PSU upgrade, and replacing my modern gaming case with a "modern" sleeper case) just to play a couple newer games that I'm interested in. Most stuff put out nowadays is complete garbage, so it's a …

Re: Interesting Steam releases of games?

in Milliways
there's a lot of interesting Steam games now that there's little to no regulation on what a game dev or a "game dev" can release but relating to the main gist of this forum, there are interesting older games like Redline, Shogo, Blood II, etc. that Steam just has out to purchase, but you have to …

Gearhead Garage and NIRA Intense Import Drag Racing should be on this list for Windows 10 64-bit. I managed to get GHG working after finding a backroads workaround on GOG forums. It's a huge hassle though. I haven't even managed to get NIRA to work, but some people apparently have, and the folks …

Re: Trying to get Gearhead Garage working on Windows 10, help!

in Windows
I want to bump this thread almost a year later and finally say that I managed to get it working on Windows 10 thanks to a GOG user called "pkkilleru." This is an especially hard game and a weird outlier to get running, so I think this thread should be up for everyone to see who wants to play this …

Re: Cyberjudas

I got it running by running an image of the ISO on a virtual drive with Daemon Tools Lite and then mounting the virtual drive in DOSBox and ran it through there. DOSBox already has an "imgmount" command for mounting CD images. interesting, I never tried using the imgmount command before. Thanks for …

Re: Cyberjudas

I emulated CyberJudas before through DOSBox and it's a weird way to get it running. I got it running by running an image of the ISO on a virtual drive with Daemon Tools Lite and then mounting the virtual drive in DOSBox and ran it through there. Might be a similar thing that you need to do with …

Trying to get Gearhead Garage working on Windows 10, help!

in Windows
I don't know what to do at this point to be honest. I just want to play Gearhead Garage, but it does not run on Windows 10 64-bit, not even under compatibility settings. I set up my own Windows 98 VM through VirtualBox and attempted to create a shared folder from my VM to my main OS so I can put the …
