What is fast enough for one person is not for another. It's hard to judge. Back in '94, I played TIE CD in SVGA on a 486DX/2 50 with a ISA Cirrus Logic card and enjoyed it. I doubt that I would be happy with that anymore. At this point I would not even bother with SVGA games on a 486/5x86.

It might have to do with the file extension being in caps? Or something funky about your JPEGs themselves. I had this problem with the brochure pics so just used Imageshack.

RIVA 128 has a really annoying issue. It has some sort of quirk that causes games to pause and stutter occasionally for no apparent reason. I think it's related to texture loading. So none of your 256meg sticks work, RG100? And they are 16 chip DIMMs? I suppose it's possible that the board doesn't support them... My Abit BF6 runs with 3x256MB though (it has 3 DIMM slots). More DIMMs means less overclockability though, and less tight timings usually.

440BX can run up to 1GB of RAM. You should be able to run 4x256MB DIMMs as long as they are 16 chip DIMMs. 440BX can't handle high-density RAM chips that came out later.

Make sure your mobo supports write back caching otherwise the 5x86s can do weird things unless jumper them for write thru mode.
