Some feedback, it turned out to work exactly as you described it Thermalwrong ( i left it on for some time, then disconnected everything for a few days and then turned it on again and it keeps the settings). My hat tips for you Sir 😀 thank you.

Giantclam is right. Its preferred to get the original part # (as it fits snugly inside the intended holder). When i googled it, i got a hit on this slightly bigger unit, and it works alright, but i would have preferred the original (smaller) size for sure.

Yes its probably conflicting using the current settings. Can you reconfigure it? I run ians xt-ide enabled bios + conventional memories xt-ide unit (for the proprietary Toshiba slot) and they work fine together (but i think C.M said that he explicitly configured it to not collide)
