Hi I would like Nuked OPL3 added to dosbox. So it can be set in dosbox.conf next to the existing opl emulators.

In audacious: settings -> sound -> FileWriter plugin (choose WAV) Now play the DRO file you want to convert to WAV using audacious. You won't hear any audio, all output is written to the WAV file

If you don't want to compile dosbox and just want to hear the difference between various OPL emulators, do this: - capture music using dosbox to DRO file (CTRL ALT F7) - install https://audacious-media-player.org/ - go to settings, find the adplug and there you can choose between 4 OPL emulators, …

For recording level music of for example Heretic, Hexen, ... (or any FPS) DRO has the advantage over WAV because DRO only captures the OPL commands, so it will only capture the level music. If you record to WAV you record everything including the sound of the enemies, ... So an easy way to record …

Also set rate=49716 in [mixer] because the mixer decides which the final sampling rate will be I don't know anything about Nuked OPL3 and never used it

For getting highest quality of the wav, set sound blaster to 49716, because this is the value used by real hardware. (dosbox.conf) Also set mixer to this value! hi Is it possible by entering a command in the autoexec setting of dosbox to make dosbox do a keyboard shortcut immediately when run? I want ctrl alt F7 for capturing DRO file to run when dosbox starts. is'this possible?

In addition: you can edit the DRO files using DRO trimmer. Audacious can record DRO playback to wav if you later want wav files of it too So you can use the DRO files a bit as the 'source'

You can also save the opl command using ctrl shift F7. Playing this file with a player that uses adplug (foobar2000, audacious for windows, andplug for android) allows you'to choose the sample rate. AdPlug uses dosbox opl emulator so it sounds exactly the same. DRO files only require some 10s of KB …

Some more questions: How can I see in a DRO file captured using latest DOSBox it has OPL2 or OPL3 data? Maybe this is changed by choosing the sound blaster model in DOSBox setting? Which sound blaster models give OPL2 or OPL3 ? Or is this not how it works?
