Also, nothing wrong with using multiple soundcards approach: one for SB/SBpro, another for SB16/WSS. Third one is GUS. 😁 Why go simple? 🤷♂️😅

I go with /I=E000-EFFF range in my config.sys, read somewhere before it's a safe range for 430XX chipsets and it's the only combination I had no problems with. Don't think you can squeeze more out of it. If you can, please do tell me. 😁

If you go XP and LGA775 route, then use the best cpu your MBO supports. XP runs great on C2D hardware. Pair it with GTX260 or GTX280 and you have a PC that can run any XP game with max details.

You can buy USB-34pin floppy adapter and then connect floppy/Gotek to PC via USB. Doesn't make sense at first thought, but still a viable solution in certain scenarios.

It boots fine on my PC, had to put "disk select sd:/win98se.iso" line to autorun.txt. Before that I've copied win98se.iso to sd card, obviously (autorun.txt is also on sd card). Consider using industrial DOM, disk on module, should be more reliable than sd/cf.

All I can confirm now is that my ASUS P65UP5 (with dual PPro) *will* boot from SD2ATAPI and real CD/DVD-ROMs, but not from the Tattie. :( I have no problems accessing it from e.g. DOS, but booting doesn't seem to work.
