I have a program called Snappy Driver Installer that works under Windows 2000 (as long as 2000 is fully updated) but is there anything like that that runs on Windows 9x, or is the only way the classic "write down device ID numbers, Google them, and hope you can find working links"?

Swapped motherboards in my Gateway Pentium III box (upgraded from Slot 1 to Socket 370, both Gateway OEM versions of Intel boards) but now the damned thing won't POST and I have no idea why because it doesn't beep. Guess I just have to start yanking cards and RAM.

My particular SS7 setup is a Tyan AT board of some type with a 500Mhz K6-2+ and 384MB of RAM and honestly, I don't use it and I'd probably part with it.

Going up to SS7 not only gets you the full performance of your CPU but faster RAM as well. I'd definitely say it's worth it.

Yeah, my Gateway DX2 tower has PS/2 ports while my Insight DX2 tower is AT. I thought maybe the Insight had some custom case because I've never seen it before but perhaps it's actually generic and just really uncommon.

I personally have only owned one 386 (a generic 386DX-33 AT full tower manufactured by Insight Computers) but I definitely recommend Gateway 2000 when it comes to the 486 era. My Gateway 2000 486DX2 tower is one of the centerpieces of my collection.
