This one is a Toshiba Tcra 550cdt. Missing the battery, but looking it up it has a Pentium 1 266 , with 16 megs of ram. It also has a 4MB S3 virge /MX 3D and does open GL and direct 3D. So looking forward to messing around with this one. Don't forget to take out the leaking batteries that lurk …

I've been working on fixing up my Pentium 1. Its not that easy. The display on the front didnt work. It was burnt out. Luckily I had another one from another old computer. Getting it set to display 233 was a fun trial and error . The IDE LED does not work, so I will have to grab one from the other …

I have been trying to run Descent on a pentium 1 , 233 machine, but every 2 or so seconds it stutters and makes it unplayable. Does this have to be played on a 486? I patched it to 1.4 and also tried the 3dfx patch. Still does the same.

INteresting question. I love games like Mad Dog, I played through who shot johnny rock last year and I know there are other games similar to it. I wonder if games like Virtual Cop can use a gun.

If you will be gaming on it, a dvd drive is essential Though you could have an external one. I Havent even one bay free on my modern PC because I watch blu rays on it.

I love my Pentium 4. Its defintely retro, but I dont use it for DOS games, thats what my 486 or pentium 1 are for. My P4 is a beast and i use it to play early to mid 2000s games like GTA 3, Oni, Dungeon Seige, Blacksite Area 51, and a ton of other games of that era.

I started X-wing. With B-wing and Imperial Pursuit expansions. I love the game, but have never finished it. I plan to complete it this time around. I need a decent controller though as playing with the mouse is too difficult for flight.
