Reviving this, had any luck replacing the fake chips? Edit: btw, do you know the model of these cache chips? I'd like to buy some but I don't know which ones. There are smd capacitors to solder between banks, I haven't identified them yet, if you know V and µF I'd be glad to have the info.

I didn't know it was there. Big surprise it has everything now, all data!! Sweet! Thanks I'll check stuff and continue tomorrow. Checked it's 12MB. I believe it could have been factory upgraded or done bya professional as the solder points are impeccable.

Just remember that DOS in w98 means VDMs, and drivers need to be VDM compatible, i.e. VXDs.
