The way the turbo option works on the EXP4044 I have access to is by dropping the front-side bus from whatever you configured the board to to 8MHz. Very impressed with how fast your 286 machine seems to be. The later 20-25mhz models on a good chipset can even give early 386s a run for their money! Loving all this 286 talk. I'm currently keeping my eyes open for a 20mhz model to accompany my DX4-100. 😁

Weird thought: Try hooking up a turbo button. Or putting a jumper on the turbo pins. I had a PCI 486 motherboard that for whatever reasion would ALLWAYS keep the computer in slow mode unless something was attached, despite bios.
