For the listed games X800/X850 native AGP should be ok. My go-to card is usually Connect3D X850Pro Vivo, because it's relatively cheap and there's good chance to unlock additional quad pipes. X1650Pro/XT AGP with 256MB GDDR3 is also good choice. Runs FarCry (shader heavy game) much smoother then …

Geode is actually recognized as "AMD Mobile Athlon XP-M". I have it on ECS K7s6a motherboard (SiS 745). I migrated from Duron 1300 to Geode NX 1750. Temps went from 55°C to low 30s in idle mode. And there is also less strain on motherboard VRM (core voltage 1.75V -> 1.25V ).

Prepped 2 Tualatin boards for incoming processors. Cleaned them up and flashed latest available BIOS. One is Intel D815EEA2/D815EPEA2 and other is Epox EP-3PTA. Epox had about 10 caps replaced. Shim problem existed all the way up to (and including) X800 series. They solved it by cooler design.

I wouldn't glue anything on the card. (I think only Gainward cards originally came with green heatsinks). Just put dual fan bracket in slot below the card. This is my setup for Voodoo 3 with two 92mm fans blowing silently at 5V:

I'd go with X800Pro/XT. Realisticaly, card is an overkill for XP 2600+ and can be found cheaper than Nvidia's equivalent. Also, there are no hickups or driver issues with SM2.0 AAA titles like HL2 or FarCry. Basically, last available (legacy) driver just works.

I've been playing with two x850 Pro Vivos. Connect 3D with 1.6ns memory, and other with 2.0ns. Both unlockable to full 16 pipelines :).
