@myne If you enable Video/Recover screen mode, the game mission will run in a corner but the mission shell which is windowed will return properly.

Since I was never exposed to a sound card output through a headphone, I may never know what the expected noise reduction a DAC would give. 🤣 I didn't think of any improvement from the ALC892 codec over in a sound card/DAC (except more output options)

Before 2000s (mostly) - used to get any form of sound, unless you have a PC speaker of AC97 CPU emulation. 2000s - EAX, DS3D, A3D, etc in trend. Post 2010 - ? I am only aware of their uses in professional environment, but how will be gaming affected by modern sound cards?

I guess he meant NO sound acceleration. A way to do that is to disable sound devices from the Sound control panel
