Can confirm that this technique also works perfectly under WinMe. You have to delete CheckOS.EXE from the Audigy DOS Driver folder, or else the setup will stop, as it only allows Win95/98. However your MSATA setup probably only works for desktops, as laptops require a 2.5" drive, and as such, the Startech IDE2SAT + ST6006C adapter will not fit in laptops. My new main W98 system has a P3 850, 512Mb ram, and a Promise Ultra 66 IDE controller, I don't think that performance will be much of an issue.

Hello Everyone, I've been struggling to remove this AVC S478 heatsink as I'm trying to upgrade my P4 AGP test bench from 1.8 to 2.8 Ghz. Old forum pages state to push the two AVC-marked metal tabs down, yet the heatsink doesn't seem to loosen up. Any ideas? Thanks!
