The idea is to have fastest transfer speed possible, so a gigabit card will definitely be faster than a 100mbps card even if I can't reach 100mbps.

Nice to know that but the PC is also for Win98SE and hopefully NT4 in the future. Maybe DOS too.

Dual P2 266MHz, 256MB RAM, Win95 on Compact Flash. I purchased RTL8169SC(L) on ebay and Win98SE won't even detect the card, so I doubt that Startech card which uses a similar chipset will work on Win95.

I have a 3COM 100Mbps PCI card, will install it but 500mbps sounds much faster than 100mbps. Even 200mbps will be worth it to get a gigabit card cuz it's twice as fast.

EPIA is DOS driver, it forces Win95 to run in DOS compatibility mode. This disables my IDE and SCSI controller, so my DVDROM is not working. Windows locks up during writing, have to wait until completion before it's free to use again. Bummer. I might as well remove the IDE drive from the external …

Looking for Shuttle Technology EPIA parallel port IDE adapter Windows 95 driver. The drivers on Syquest website are not for the SQ series drives, they are for EZFlyer and SyJet drives. I installed the chipset utility from ASUS website. https://www.asus.com/supportonly/P2B-B/HelpDesk_download 3.20.1008.zip freezes the computer, screen goes black, no signal. Uninstalling XUSBSUPP and then reinstalling gives same result.

Yes they do. Model is SyQuest SQ270P. I'm guessing the internal drive is IDE or it might be a parallel PCB.

Does anyone have Hardware Compatibility List for Windows NT 4.0 (x86)? Microsoft's link is dead. I too would like a build but most motherboard manufacturers doesn't support it. Can you use win2000 drivers instead?
