I would expect on a 1.7Ghz Arm, that DOSbox would perform poorly. You could probably run older 286 and earlier titles, but nothing that needs a 386 or higher. Since most old PC games usually use a mouse and keyboard, playing them on a TV does not appeal to me. Maybe joystick compatible platformers …

If you are worried about bots, perhaps forced moderation is the key. I know at WineHQ we solved much of our PHPbb forum spam by making a user have 2 posts approved by a moderator before they are allowed to freely post. Downside is that it does keep the moderators much busier as they have to approve …

I do not think the SVGA version, even if you tried, does not work well in ScummVM yet. It uses a newer version of the SCI engine that is not fully implemented yet. The VGA version probably works fine. Both versions will run great under DOSBox.

A quick look at NewEgg.com shows quite a few 4:3 monitors. This one in particular caught my eye. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?It … N82E16824254103 LED backlit, and I've had good luck with HannsG in the past.
