Re: Any thoughts about moving to GPLv3?

in DOSBox General
The main thing GPLv3 seem to have over GPLv2 is the anti-DRM stuff, and how relevant is that to DOSBox? There are sales of machines that are designed like arcade machines. Inside, they're just computers that only run an emulator. I don't know if anyone ever sold a "DOSBox arcade machine" (probably …

Re: Any thoughts about moving to GPLv3?

Well, GPL sees itself as a whole philosophy. They spent more than a decade and a half on v3. As for benefits: http://www.gnu.org/licenses/rms-why-gplv3.html If the source code mentions "version 2 or later", then it can automatically move into 3 by changing it to "version 3 or later".

IMHO the only way you should alter the path is with the "SET PATH=" command. Why? "set path=c:" seems to give the exact same result with: Z:\>path PATH=Z:\ Z:\>path c:\ Z:\>path PATH=c:\ BTW, the link http://projects.freedos.net/keyb/ in README.txt has died back in 2007 (after v0.72 was released). …

Yes, a new version! But there's an installation bug - you've stopped supporting upgrades. If I install it over the last version, as I've always done, the old version remains in the start menu. Also, it keeps the old config file with the header "0.72" in it. In the end, I've uninstalled everything …

You are a) claiming to know the reason for the actions of all other people, which obviously you don't For your information, I've only written this after running a little survey in YouTube by PMing relevant users and asking them why they don't use DOSBox' own recorder. They all had just one reason, …

how is this related to dosbox ? I think the OP meant he simply expects DOSBox's video capture to record all enabled sounds (in Windows' volume control) or at least the microphone and not just the game's sound. try a video editor or so I bumped this topic because I wanted to point out that YouTube …

VLC v0.9 presents: "DOSBox Capture support"

in DOSBox General
If you don't know, VLC is a multimedia player that plays almost any video and audio filetype. It is also an open source free multi platform software just like DOSBox. But unlike DOSBox, it even has an archive version that doesn't need to be installed (and yes, I do know DOSBox' installation is …

Which is why I said because it's something a court eventually decides, not the image's uploader The "license" is just a plea not to sue them, but the whole point is that it tries convincing why (e.g. "this image uses a low resolution"). All I'm saying is that you should import those licenses too.

Re: The New Wiki

When I said license, I meant the one they use under images (when you click them). If it was fair use by default, they wouldn't have bothered to display a license that basically begs to acknowledge said image as fair use (because it's something a court eventually decides, not the image's uploader).
