I messed around with Windows 10 32bit some on an AM2 system. Even managed to test and run a Voodoo 2. It wasn't bad at all with 4gb of RAM. Using the internet was another story for the old dual core though. Does using 7 really offer up any advantages over 10?

I recall using a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz back in the day when 2000 was new. I always liked that card. It had solid sound quality. I'm not sure how all the caps on it have held up over the years though to put it in use today.

20 amps on a Corsair I have seems to top out around 2.2ghz for me, perhaps a little higher. It's not worth overclocking a Socket A in my opinion, just build a stronger system. Socket A strength lies in adaptability and being able to clock down to 300mhz.

Comparing different fruits here really. To each their own. Starfield could have been built a bit better, considering it's engine has been around for so long. Larion just threw more polish and DnD systems on to the DOS2 engine. Both are the best achievements so far from each studio. I like both more …

Awesome Joseph. I've had success with Corsair 20a PSUs and Athlon XP up to about 2.2ghz. That's without the extra 4 pin CPU power connector. For what it's worth, that's what I currently have running on my XP system but it tops out at 1.4.

People always forget that we were on CRTs and didn't care about vsync or hitting 60fps. 60fps standard became more of a thing with flat panel monitors which aren't even retro, but just old.

My Voodoo 3 3000 that I bought new. I don't have it in service anymore but it still seems to work just fine even after being in a dozen different systems over the years.

Voodoo scales decently well. Use the Athlon XP setup if you can power it. Don't let guys talk you into a Pentium 2 being all you need for it. If you want to get your money's worth, target 1ghz or so CPU. Also, don't waste time with dual CPU.
