Forwards in sp is the way to go. Just find sp6 iso and see if it resolves. There were many years of bugfixes. Presumably it's OK to link to standard Windows isos... https://archive.org/details/WinNT40SP6aISOEXE

What servicepack is the iso? Best to use a slipstreamed sp6 if you can Can't hurt to disable anything not strictly necessary in the bios. Eg parallel, serial. Also play with other settings like vga IRQ on/off,ide modes on/off. I had a board that didn't work with block mode or whatever it was enabled …

0x0000001e is an ntfs problem. I'm not sure whether there were any further patches, or what it could be exactly. Maybe a large volume on a system that doesn't support it? Formatted in a later os? Adapter?

I forgot about the Geode, I'd like to have a play with one, I like efficient things! I wonder if the whole system would compete with the 20 watts I get from this P3. I've also tried a Cyrix CPU in this machine and it brings the total system wattage down even more but the performance is awful …
