Also after testing the fuse and you find that is blown you can ad a 'low forward voltage drop diode' on the 5v line for those ports so if there is any reverse voltage 'injected' in to the motherboard from that kvm switch then it would be protected in the future and will not blow the fuse every time …

J2 should be 2x multiplier for AMD cpu's (it's marked with AMD 2X), because i see that J1 is marked with 'Intel' and unpopulated so if that was the only multiplier jumper, the CPU should be running at 3x33 Mhz and i see in the pic that it's running at 66 Mhz.

Well, you went from a 66 mhz fsb cpu to a 100 mhz fsb cpu. Regarding the ram issue, the memory controller it's in chipset. I agree with chinny22, first post a picture with the motherboard , so we can all understand what we are dealing with. If it's the version with the non standard power connector you will need a adapter to use a standard PSU or you will have to look for the PSU with proprietary connector.

That should be just fine , you can bend the pins if you need it, mind the polarity when you solder them. Did you had the time to quick test the card without the failed ones ? (Just remove the shorted/blown ones and test it).

For MOSFETs first thing , mind the channel type n or p. When searching for equivalents, i find it easy to use something like 'n mosfet X volts Y amps ' , where X is Vdss and Y is Id , the rest (Id pulse , pch ..) you can compare it in the datasheet. I've been allays curious if the video dram will work in pairs of 2 FPM and 2 EDO , like the normal ram works mixed in pairs . The specs of the s3 chip states that supports both FPM and EDO.

Try the 3rd card , if the problem persists , try with a known good working PSU. If you still get the same result, post some decent pictures with the motherboard.

What model of motherboard ? Are you a 'overclocker'? Some times the thermal stress induced to the pcb while replacing them is not worth it (they are not like caps). I recommend doing that only if your VRM stage is weak/poorly designed.

10% tolerance (if the price gap is not that big) , standards , no low ESR in this case. Brands available ? Kemet is better , but Kyocera is ok also (a 20% 'good brand' can be better then a 10% 'no name').
