Most VGA cards will work fine if inserted into 8-bit isa slots. Including on XT clones - either 8088 or 8086. That's good to know. Is it also normal for them to support DB9 TTL output with an adapter? I found an adapter on Amazon that looks right; I will give it a try. Next page mentions jumper …

I found a picture of a box and "Ergo" seems to refer to supporting a 72hz refresh rate. Presumably the rest of the features are identical between the VRAM II and the Ergo, except for bugfixes. Also, somebody bought the manual on Ebay a few months ago...whoever you are, please scan and upload it.

The Leading Edge diagnostic and master disk (DOS 3.1 and DOS 2.1) see the year correctly, so this seems to be a DOS problem. 1980 is the DOS default year. I guess CLKDVR.SYS doesn't set the year correctly on DOS 6.22. Why, I don't know. The KnowledgeBase article says it's supposed to work.

I set my XT-IDE to 340h, and my Intel 8/16 NIC to 260h, so they don't conflict with the clock on IO 300h. The Leading Edge diagnostic utility shows the clock as enabled. The clock seems to work fine (keeps the time, day, and month when the PC is shut off), it just always thinks it's 1980.
