Re: DOOM-IT Launcher for Doom

If you want the original feel then get zdoom or something of it's kind. Allows for more customization and ease of use, but also allows you to see the game as it originally was. I use zdaemon (zdoom) myself, as I like to play online with crazy wads.

Re: DOOM-IT Launcher for Doom

Yes dosbox can run Dos Doom. No dosbox can not launch Doom 95. You gave us "D:\Ultimate Doom for Windows 95" which indicates you are using the windows Doom. Why not simply launch the wad from there? Doom 95 includes a spot where you can add Pwads. http://drsleep.newdoom.com/windeu_for_beginners_ …

Re: DOOM-IT Launcher for Doom

Wait wait wait wait....what the heck are you trying to do? Use DoomIT in dosbox and have it run Doom 95? That isn't going to happen. Whatever DoomIT runs will run within dosbox, so it must be the DOS Doom. Surely those wads are located on the cd or something? Just take them off. Unless theres a zip …

Re: fullscreen problem on widescreen in linux

Ok fine, when I have time I'll make up an official "what the heck is going here" post with screenshots. However the last time I tried to explain it all I got was aggressive "stfu" behavior from many users here or the classic "well go fix it then" which I've already explained I can't.

Re: fullscreen problem on widescreen in linux

As you might have already noticed it's impossible to get information about what the graphics card exactly does. Of course everybody wants it like "start up dosbox, everything works". But repeatedly posting about it without doing something obviously doesn't fix it (see that lengthy thread some time …

Re: fullscreen problem on widescreen in linux

ddraw on ubuntu? No no, I meant in general. For Linux you can't use it obviously. I'm sorry, I made a mistake. Overlay doesn't respect the aspect ratio either. The only one that seems to draw 4:3 is surface. overlay, opengl and openglnb are stretching to 16:10. The scaler parameter is ignored by …

Re: DOSBox Game Launcher (DOSBox Frontend)

Maybe, I'd have to try it. Although I figure since it's only one game I don't mind doing it manually. See what I did was - mount c: c:\dos c: cd\sierra\gk2dos\cd imgmount disc1 disc2 disc3......etc gk2.exe Something along those lines. If I mount the images using "c:\blahblah\blahblah2\cd\disc1.cue" …

Re: Playing lengthy DOS games...

With DOSBox being the most popular DOS emulator and currently without save feature, do you guys avoid playing the lengthy games altogether or is the WIKI telling fibs and there are better DOS emulators out there? I....don't understand this? Dos games save in dosbox the same way they saved back in …

Re: GameRez.ORG is Live.

in DOS
I like the idea, but do you really think companies will see this as any different from illegal downloads? Their lawyers really don't care about the moral sides of things.

Re: DOSBox Game Launcher (DOSBox Frontend)

Suggestion - could there maybe be an extra tab in the profile to show the conf file's contents in plain text format? Like a "view source" type of thing? When you edit a config file manually externally and then try to use the frontend's profile editor it overwrites any unusual manual changes. For …

Re: Quest for Glory 4 sound/voice glitches

No....assuming you set it up correctly. Did you create an image of the disc or just copy the essential files over and edit the config file? Remember that sierra games hardcode the config file with your cd-rom drive's letter. If you installed from D:\ then you better make sure dosbox mounts D: as the …

Re: Quest for Glory 4 sound/voice glitches

Reduce the cycles, it will most likely fix both of your issues. core=normal cycles=8000-12000 (My guess, I haven't tried in awhile) Then in the Quest for Glory install set the music to "Sound Blaster / Adlib and compatibles" and set the speech to just "Sound Blaster" and it should be fine. If you …
