You have to change which drive letter is active, which is a separate process from changing the current directory on a given drive.

There used to be an app called IsoBuster or somesuch that would show you the filesystem types on the disc. Is the disc dirty or scratched? Can you see any holes in the top layer if you hold it up to a light while looking at the bottom side?

Could be some kind of Linux sound driver issue. Some setups have higher latency than others from what I've heard.

I can't seem to get Last Half of Darkness VGA's Covox Speech Thing support to work in DOSBox 0.73? It says that you need to load STDRIVER.SYS in config.sys and then load SPEECHV3.EXE before running the game. First, I tried ignoring all that and telling it to try using the Covox Speech Thing anyways …
