Re: D.O.G. 1.53 Released

Mighty impressive work Erik, keep it up! It seems almost like we stepped in D-Fend's footsteps at the exact right moment, since I haven't heard from Mabus Raeen in months. He seems to have lost interest in maintaining the 'Mother of all DB front-ends' 😉...

Re: New DOSBox Frontend - DOSBox Game Launcher

Hi people, Red_avatar, Dosfreak, and many more people have asked me to add some custom fields to DBGL. I've been working on this and would appreciate any feedback on the current status. A total of 10 new custom fields are added, 8 of them strings, one numeric value and one field for percentages. …

Re: Any good frontends for OS X?

Would be very interesting indeed to know if you can get DBGL to work on OSX. I have an old G3 myself and got it working (sort of) after installing Java 1.5, overwriting the SWT libs and a lot of patience (this G3 is really too old). Unfortunately, while it seemed to work, a lot of SWT warnings and …

Re: New DOSBox Frontend - DOSBox Game Launcher

Hi all, The Linux package has been uploaded to the usual location. Attached is a Linux 64-bit DBGL package (from Jeff) for testing purposes. For those who care to check it out; please let me know if it worked for you so that maybe I can put it on the DBGL website soon. Thanks, Ronald http://home. …

Re: New DOSBox Frontend - DOSBox Game Launcher

When I am ready I should be able to compile DBGl myself, and then maybe start creating patches for it. That would be really cool MiniMax, thank you! If you want access to my DBGL SVN server, let me know. The dbgl.bat file ... is technically not a BAT-file ... Oops, didn't know that. I will rename …

Re: New DOSBox Frontend - DOSBox Game Launcher

@Xulchris: Yes, you should download the 64-bit Linux SWT libraries from http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/drops/R-3.2.2-200702121330/index.php#swt and put the .so files in the dbgl/lib subdirectory. Please let me know if you can get it to work! Hmmm, I would like to have the ability to …

Re: New DOSBox Frontend - DOSBox Game Launcher

For those who didn't notice yet, 0.55 was released yesterday. Windows only for the moment, I'll be uploading the Linux package soon. Also new is a special `Starter Edition` which contains DBGL, DOSBox 0.70 and a small amount of nice free DOS oldies! The new stuff: * Should fully support DOSBox 0.70! …

Re: New DOSBox Frontend - DOSBox Game Launcher

@Minimax, thanks for the work while I was away! @daisho and Vindicis, thanks and thanks for the suggestions. I will certainly consider them carefully. red_avatar, it should be possible to select more than one file in the 'browse' dialog window. Just hold shift or ctrl and click on the files that you …

Re: Dosbox 0.7 is out!

Do we need to wait for newer versions of the frontends or they will work fine as they are now? I don't know about the other frontends out there, but I hope to release DBGL 0.55 really soon which will (at least) add support for joystick wrapping. Everything else is already working in the most recent …

Re: New DOSBox Frontend - DOSBox Game Launcher

Captures.... Where are they supposed to be saved when using DBGL? It seems to me, like they are being saved in the captures directory where the dosbox.exe is located, and not in the numbered captures directory created by DBGL? They should be stored in the DBGL numbered captures directories. Note …

Re: New DOSBox Frontend - DOSBox Game Launcher

Hi all, Just a small step for DBGL, a giant leap for DOSBox; 0.54 is up: * Implemented support for the new joystick configuration options such as 'timed mode', as introduced in DOSBox CVS on Jan. 9th. NOTE: Do not use these options with any of the DOSBox 0.66 beta builds, it will not work correctly. …

Re: New DOSBox Frontend - DOSBox Game Launcher

Okay, another remark. It's EXTREMELY easy to fuck up the entire database it seems. I merely added one entry manually (in the database file) and the program wouldn't even boot anymore, because the database version was not correct or something. No offense, red_avatar, but it is also extremely easy to …

Re: Misc. timing patches

I was using 10.000 cycles normal core and for me using HAL's build the intro looks slightly better than when using plain CVS; movie hiccups only rarely occur. But you're entirely correct; your 'Changes to scheduled rendering' patch has a much better effect, resulting in almost fluent animation.
