I see, thank you for your input h-a-l, but still I do not understand why 0.65 behaves differently compared to a patched cvs build. Even Commander Keen 6's (1991) behaviour is like paratrooper's, do you think that game is also using loops for delaying things?

Hmm the Commodore Joystick is a digital one. To connect it to an analog joystick port you need some kind of adapter. My bad, you're 100% right, I guess that's a totally different case then. I'm wondering, might the RANGE constant be directly related to the dosbox cycles setting? Maybe if we can …

Yeah, my first joystick (commodore 64 stick, black with one red firebutton) had to be used in combination with such a device that you speak of, with potentiometers for both axes. Come to think of it, a friend of mine had these 'tuning switches' on top of his joystick.

I tried abandonia's copy, works fine if I just drag lov.bat to my dosbox shortcut, using dosbox 0.65 default settings. It does take a few secs for the game to load, maybe you just have to wait a bit longer? What are your system specs? You might try experimenting with dosbox cycles a bit..

Sorry, no, my confirmation was about the missing sound and music in the game that you reported, in DOSBox. Altering DOSBox settings (sbtype/cycles/mpu401) does not seem to help, so it looks like it is really broken. Maybe one of the devs can look into this issue sometime. Regards, Ronald

Hi guys, I can confirm the problem. Using Qbix' latest build (with the new mixer code), my machine hung at 100% CPU within a couple of minutes. I also played MM4 for about 15 min., no problem there. Regards, Ronald
