Re: Roland Sound Canvas Prices

There are a ton of non-Sound Canvas modules which are a SC-55 or variant, too. Boss DR-330, Roland MT-90, MT-120, and several others I can't recall right now. Not to mention SC-33, SC-50, SC-55ST, SC-55K, etc etc. Bottom line - these often go for a lot less money. Over here in Australia I've seen a …

Re: Yamaha MU2000EX

Hey John, Sorry to hear about your failing synths. Don't get rid of the MT-32, it's probably worth something for parts, assuming it can't be cheaply repaired which is possible as well. The Yamaha page still exists at the Wayback Archive: http://web.archive.org/web/20180102071839/http://download. …

Re: What are the *unmissable* MT-32 experiences?

Going back to the original question, these games are Sierra's unmissable experiences in my book (talking music quality, not game quality of course): - Codename: Iceman - Conquests of Camelot - Eco Quest 1 - Heart of China - King's Quest 5 - Laura Bow 1 - Laura Bow 2 - Leisure Suit Larry 3 - Leisure …

Re: Volume reduction on Roland LAPC-I

Yeah, you'll need to send a SysEx file to lower the master volume. Any of the QuestStudios Sierra SysEx files lower the volume from 100 to 80, so those could be a quick and easy way to do it. BTW, Lutz, weren't you on the QuestStudios forums years ago? 😀

Re: Phantasmagoria MT-32 Option Broken?

I just found it curious that using the MT-32 driver option with the SCVA (using SC-55 map) sounded the same as if I selected the General Midi driver option for the game - when one would expect SCVA to not sound correct at all with the MT-32 driver option. It's not surprising at all, if you know how …

Re: Old games that had CD Audio tracks?

in DOS
I think I might be confusing a few platforms. The Incredible Machine 1 on PC CD is probably only the "Even More Incredible Machine" release, some other platforms released it as the original game, some released it as the expansion. Almost all had Redbook, but weren't PC. Probably safer to remove that …

Re: Old games that had CD Audio tracks?

in DOS
Couple additions: "Incredible Machine, The - Version 3.0 (pre-emphasis)" is on the list. The first two games also have redbook. Even More is listed already, but 1 and 2 also had redbook, the latter being the same tunes as the 3.0, but possibly reverse panpot. I think 1 and Even More (effectively an …

Re: Roland SC-55 Settings

Hello, I picked up an early version of an SC-55 (ROM 1.10 - GS Logo on front - no general midi), and reset it to factory defaults after I was having some issues. Was curious if there is recommended settings / guidance for each instrument and part for the Level, Pan, Reverb, and Chorus settings as a …

Re: PC MIDI Card with Dreamblaster X2

Hey Tom, Wonderful to "see" you in the DOS community, it's been far too long. Ari Stone has just returned to the QS forums, and posted a few things, so it's been a nostalgic time. If you feel like replying here, it'd be more than welcome: https://www.midimusicadventures.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f= …

Re: Phantasmagoria MT-32 Option Broken?

Hey Daemonrunner, You're operating under a few correct conceptions, but also a few misconceptions as well. Let's see if I can clear them up. Sierra was the champion of the MT-32, yet, something seems off with the MT-32 option in Phantasmagoria. This is correct - for the late 80s and early 90s. …

Re: MT32-PI and Roland UM-ONE

Yes I did notice it was 100 on start up but most games will lower it themselves. A manual rotary knob would be a great addition! Most Sierra games do this. In the game itself you have a volume adjustment and changing that should also show on the display for the MT-32 side of things. That is how it …
