Yes I did notice it was 100 on start up but most games will lower it themselves. A manual rotary knob would be a great addition! Most Sierra games do this. The Korg NS5R has some XG support, and the NX5R/N1R have full XG support. The Roland SC-8820/50 have XG support, also. Really, it depends what level XG you need.

I can tell you that no Sierra GM game will sound better on a MT-32 than the SC-55. And with what you're describing, using the GM driver, many times this will make it even worse (incompatible instruments, not enough polyphony, etc). While those sorts of modules won't be any more than a footnote, my current knowledge of how they sound is basically zero, so it's still good to know/learn. 😀 I guess all I know about the device is that it uses a form of FM Synthesis, right?

Ok, thanks. It's been so long since I had hardware, I had forgotten. I think in DOSBox Win 3.1 there's an Adlib option in Windows, for MIDI though? I guess that's the same thing, Adlib for MIDI games and not for OPL games.

Hey folks, Apologies if I'm asking a dumb question. Basically, is it possible to disable Adlib for FM Synth, while allowing what is set up as Windows "MIDI Synth" to play FM (e.g. real FM hardware, or in my case, a softsynth driver)? Or does Windows MIDI setup only apply to MT/GM games?
