dosbox tries to look like a S3 trio 32/64 videocard with some hacks for better cga/tandy support, but programs like univbe should find it and work with it correctly. Well for 256 color modes anyway sicne higher aren't supported

Only windows has direct cd access, on other platforms you only have SDL that can get track information and play audio tracks but not read the actual cd sector data.

And dosbox 0.58 doesn't have svga support so no use running svga version in there.

hehe dreamcast's mighty 300 whatever mhz cpu is no way near powerfull enough to run dosbox

speed checks will hardly be accurate because of the way dosbox emulates the cpu, some instructions that might take the same amount of time on a real cpu can take much longer/shorter in dosbox.

Well it's a more a problem with the vga emulation that the screen is drawn to quickly and games thinking they still have some time before the lower half of the screen still needs to get drawn

dosbox already does multithreading with graphics updates being done in another thread, but that's about the only thing you can do with it.
